Dr. Brian Bicknell
BSc (hons) PhD
Brian graduated as a marine biologist and a microbiologist. He has experience in molecular biology and phylogenetics and in the past has conducted research into marine microbiology, bioremediation, microbial nutrient cycling, sulphur cycling, geomicrobiology, and cellular signalling. Dr Bicknell is an Honorary Fellow at Australian Catholic University in the Faculty of Health Science and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Australasian Research Institute. He research is currently focussed on the effect of PBM on the microbiome in mice (in conjunction with Dr Daniel Johnstone), the molecular signalling in response to PBM in a various animal models, PBM upregulation of genes and the translational implications of PBMt effects in metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
